EXO’s Baekhyun Talks About Solo Comeback, Members’ Reactions To “Candy,” And Much More

EXO’s Baekhyun has released his brand new album “Delight”!

In an interview that is recent by SM Entertainment, Baekhyun mentioned different topics involving his comeback including  the EXO members’ reactions and more.

When asked just how he felt about making a solo comeback, he said, “It’s been a while since I undergone a revival with a solamente album, so I’m very nervous, but I’m happy and excited to consider the fans whom waited for my album.”

Baekhyun shared that the definition of the word “delight” is “joy” and said he really wants  to give joy to many people through this album. Laughing, he shared, “And as we have actually the supernatural power of ‘light’ in EXO, I desired to include “light” in the album’s name. We chose ‘Delight’ to offer the impression it’s linked to my solo debut album ‘City Lights.'”

He additionally talked about his title track “Candy,” explaining, “‘Candy’ is a trendy R&B song, and  the lyrics compare my different charms and looks to various flavors of candy. If you listen closely, there are many witty expressions like ‘mature cinnamon’ and ‘funny mint,’ so I think this aspect is a key point.”

When expected to compare himself to a flavor, he said with laughter, “I’ll pick  a sweet and sour strawberry flavor. I personally like strawberries too.”

Baekhyun talked about  the phase performance for “Candy,” saying, “I worked with Kasper, a choreographer and  an friend that is old of. He would often teach us popular dances, and since ‘Candy’ is really a song that is trendy we included trendy techniques that are globally popular to fit the form  of the song.”

When expected about the EXO members’ responses, he shared, “All the  people cheered for me personally and stated that the song was actually great. Suho and Chanyeol also came to the music video set and provided me with a complete lot  of support.”

Baekhyun, whom has showcased many R&B songs until now, shared that he want  to decide to try the stone ballad genre in the long term. He said, “I’ve been listening to various genres of music recently, and i know felt that rock ballads leave a long-lasting impression on me personally.”

When asked about what he’s “delighted” by lately, he enthusiastically shared, “Apples! Today, we attempt  to eat apples for my meal that is first every. We don’t think I’ve been thinking much about my health thus far, so I’m wanting  to improve my defense mechanisms and simply take care of my health.”

Finally, Baekhyun was asked what his goals are for  this album, and he answered, “Through this record album, i'd like to strengthen my place as being  a solo musician and keep a memorable impression on many individuals. And as constantly, I hope individuals can listen to my feel and voice healed.”

Even before its launch, Baekhyun’s comeback record album “Delight” broke the solo artist record for the most units offered in the first week. He has also set a brand new personal record for stock pre-orders with the album.
